Hi Jon

We haven't seen any BBC News articles on People Fried By UFOs (yet) - so how goes it?
Has the sun shined enough to make it work/worthwhile?

Hi Keith

It went really well: This was the basic setup: A rough (30%) scale model of Stonehenge. I just used bamboo for the perimeter ring because I was worried about damaging the field. I've used a small mirror set and a reflector which splays the light out more, so isn't quite as bright as the old one:

I didn't go for the 'summer set' in the end, so the reflector is a bit low relative to the trilithons. Here's the setup working: The mirrors were a little out of focus at the time, but it shows the arrangement:

Most interesting thing is that I'm finding out stuff I didn't know. Take a look at all the lozenge shaped reflections onto the inner face of the trilithons: Because the inner surfaces of the Trilithons have been worked to be flat, you can use the reflections to see if the mirrors are focused rather than having to eye-in all the mirrors from the hinge.

It's a much easier way than I had been using. But it needs flat worked surfaces so I doubt there's a commercial application to today's comparable systems.

I trust you are putting up all this material on the Megalithic Portal.

Hi Mick

Yes, a couple of the photos above are also on the Portal. I've shown a bit more here because Keith was planning to have a go at it.

But the Megalithic Portal will see it 'live' next year: I've arranged with Andy to construct a more detailed version at their event, which is now being planned for the South East. On the Portal, there's been a bit more in the way of discussion on the other monuments which also seem to fit the same way of thinking. I've too much work on to look at the social structures that could have done all this, so hopefully you guys will run with it if you think it fits in with the Empire.

There's a bit more technical detail on the blog, (though not a lot more; the gist of it is above):

I'm in the process of updating the booklet, so for the rest of this week, the booklet is free on Amazon Kindle in the mornings and early afternoon

There's a much more detailed explanation of what the project is about now up on Dennis Price's Eternal Idol site:

(It's free to download between about 9am and about 4pm today to Friday)

Update completed: Took some time this, but now in a referenced form with appendices and technical data plus some extra stuff. A US film company has used my ideas and is about to release a promo: They've used an animation company in Paris to do the graphics so I'm hoping it'll be better than my efforts.

In the spirit of "It's got something to do with Stonehenge and I can't think where else to put it"....

Here's a link that mentions a splendid improvement to the Devizes Museum

http://www.itv.com/news/west/update/201 ... n-devizes/

Massive display of the 'original crown jewels' in Devizes.

Stonehenge relics go on show

Relics from the Bronze age that are being called Britain's "original crown jewels" are going on display in Devizes. It's the largest collection of Bronze age gold ever to go on show and promises to transform public understanding of the era. The artefacts date from the 'golden age' of Stonehenge: 3000 to 2000 BC. The exhibition features 500 objects and can be viewed at the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes.

Including the famous Lozenge.

You guys might be interested in this thread, it seems to heavily link in with some of the Empire ideas:

Blimey O'Reilly! Your ability to stir up the folks on the Megalithic Portal evokes great waves of resentment on my part. We wrote a whole book about Megaliths and got one deeply sceptical review (from your mate, Sem) and six sarky comments from his groupies. How come they take you seriously? Just because you can model tin foil. I've got a conical hat made out of tin foil to keep the voices out.

Happy Yule to y'all.
