It looks like a rivet but it's not very golden is it?

Put me in for a couple of bottles of Cognac and a case of a decent Burgundy.

Oh and a box of Havanas as well.

Don't tell anyone

Five-and-twenty ponies, trotting through the dark—
Brandy for the Parson, 'baccy for the Clerk.
Them that asks no questions isn't told a lie—
So watch the wall, my darling, while the Gentlemen go by!

It's just the TME team, me 'ansome!

Nice that the cargo-transfer scenes in "Brandy for the Parson" were filmed in Salcombe, a good TME port. The cross-country scenes on "the old Roman roads" were filmed around Cerne Abbas and the old A30.

As we've spent so much time looking at serpents and dragons, it's ironic that I now have to learn to command Pythons. I'm starting here:

Tisi, mon ami, the little grey cells are taking a hammering. I may have to ask a teenage child what buttons to press.

Ask a teenage child what buttons to press and I'm sure he'll take the python.

Best ask the experts.

References to Monty are scattered throughout the Python source code, to the delight of of many Brit coders working their way up the Python learning curve.

SPOILER ALERT - IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE SCORE LOOK AWAY NOW

Ma wee cousin (MacBoreades) tells me the whole clan is delighted that New Zealand won the World Cup.

Why? By the Righteous Reckoning, Scotland would have been a contender, and should have been in the final. Just cheated out of it by Australia and that dubious ref decision. He also tells me the Scottish Squad is already looking for a suitable ferocious response to the Kiwi's Haka. Suggestions gratefully received. Something along the lines of Braveheart will do nicely, just without any hanging, drawing and quartering. Or bottle throwing. Or a Glascow Kiss.

Still, as a famous Scots poet (Somhairle MacGill-Eain) said “Our children are bred for emigration”. As Richie McCaw was the Kiwi Captain, and the McCaws came from Scotland, as part of the Gaelic diaspora, it still could be said that Scotland has won the World Cup!

How about tossing the kiwi? In the nicest possible way.

They must bounce on their head before landing upright to count.

I've always advocated England doing a Morris Dance weaving in and out between the hakkers flicking their hankies with disdain.

The Welsh could bring their dragon along and set it on the tongue wagglers. That'll learn 'em.

Here's the great late Somhairle in his own words

All comes to those that wait.

In the case of folks in Tresco, in the Scillies, it's parts of a space rocket.

Proving that, err, the Scillies are still a trade hub, even if the trade is arriving a lot slower than originally intended.
