Err, not quite sure how to put this, my old friend.

Your butler phoned me a moment ago in a state of great distress. He says your scullery maid put all the MacAusland Family Fortune on a dead-cert bet yesterday, Brazil to win.

What happened?

All five bob of it? I'm heartbroken.

I hope the butler reversed the charges otherwise it's cutting the lawn with nail clippers again.

Can't get the servants these days.

However, the august organ that is the fount of all knowledge has an interesting article on Polish shamans and worshipping stones that fall from the sky. There's even a photo of an ancient shaman with antler horns on his head to go with the story.

Perhaps I should import a few Polish shamans to run affairs at MacAusland towers. They come quite cheap and can do the plumbing so I've heard.

As a bonus there's a little insert about how Stonehenge was the London of the stone age. Two for the price of one. What a bargain.

Ancient Britons from far and wide were drawn to Stonehenge to see the area’s pink flint
and the River Avon acted as an ‘A-Road’ carrying people to a nearby settlement at Blick Mead
where feasts and tour guides were available even before the monument was built,
one archaeologist has claimed.

Tour guides?
That archeo must be channeling the Polish Shaman.
Either that, or they've found the sign posts.

Henge burgers?

Stonehenge was an early manifestation of the 'Golden Arches'.

I hope they trade marked it.

I see the crows picked the wrong team to win the final.

No wonder they were replaced by parrots.

Now that it's history, we can start with the historical Caption Competition.

Weird Al Yankovic is a favourite of my children, mostly (I think) because he takes the piss out of everything.
(dunno where they got that from, I blame their mother)

Anyway, imagine my delight on finding Weird Al Yankovic on a history website. As we have so many authors (past, present and future) lurking in this website, I thought it would be of fun to all.

Do incorrectly placed apostrophes drive you to distraction? Do you wish severe penalties could be imposed on people who use quotation marks for emphasis? Then this video is for you.

Is Wanda a secret leyline hunter?

Wanda is Wiltshire's wandering Wallaby. She's jumped the fence of her home near Marlborough, and is currently enjoying a wander (sic) through deepest East Wiltshire.

See: http://www.westerndailypress.co.uk/s-en ... story.html

Here’s a map of where she’s been spotted so far

It has a curious symmetry on a NE-SW axis.

Looks like she's headed for Poole.

Perhaps there's a barque or some such hidden up a cove waiting to take her back to Botany Bay.

These Oz girls do get around, not like our own demure English Roses.
