Here are a couple of weird links to Carl Munck which relate to ancient monuments and physical geography. As well as mathematics and a trip to Mars.

His main idea is that these monuments contain a mathematical encoding that fix them in terms of longitude and latitude as well as each other through repeated mathematical formluae and measurement.

I failed 'O' level maths with flying colours so it looks clever to me. I'll leave it to the experts to decide.

Our favourite organ has published an article about Stonehenge and the findings of Professor Vince Gaffney and an Austrian research team regarding what lies underneath the complex.

It comes with a helpful moving picture of modern hunter gatherers at the site performing their traditional jumping up and down dance, with drums.

They seem to have found another fifteen structures underground. A fuller article is to be found at the Smithsonian site where three pages with photos are devoted to the topic. The good prof waxes lyrical about 'the Jerusalem Effect' which must be exciting for the archaeologists. Perhaps it means they bang their heads against the stones while muttering incantations to the ancient gods.

He still doesn't seem to know what it was all for but he is very enthusiastic. And uses big words like 'cathedralesque' and the like.

I thought I would add this as an example of straightness to balance the previous weirdness.

Although sometimes straightness seems to be weirder than weirdness. The idea of men actually carrying the bluestones from 'North Wales' (sic) seems weird and Pythonesque if not Cathedralesque.

Has anyone drawn a 'meridian' at longitude 1.49 degrees or whatever it is? It'd be interesting to have a map showing where the line went, which places and coastlines it went through.
