Well I thought it was your book (and Vered's) but in your previous reply you said you couldn't speak for the authors...

In any case, the points are clear. Turning a tap counter-clockwise loosens it. Ann was the mother of Mary not John the Baptist – his mother was called Elizabeth. Hardly obscure points, so I'm intrigued as to the reason for saying otherwise.

Fairly obscure since a) we didn't spot it first time round and b) nor the second time round. No significance, just mistakes. The authorship thing was a joke. Though obviously Hatty must have authored those two particular sentences. I assume, since you've opened a whole new thread, that you have more up your sleeve. They were all written by Hatty as well.

Fire your proofie! Well, don't, it's the copy ed's job, I guess. Still...

No, no more for the time being, cos I've had to take the book back to the library so as not to get a fine, which wouldn't be a fine way to finish.

Bane? Bane!?!?
Bleedin'ell, I've been called somethings in my life, but that's a new one.
Or is it rhyming slang for something Dane?
Coming over 'ere, pillaging our websites, 'aving a giraffe and nicking all our charters.
Mange tout Rodney, they'll be writing their own history books next.

Well, well, well.

This one is called the Virtuous Well. It's in Trellech, Monmouthshire, and it offers another explanation for the link between Anne and wells:

When people started calling it the Virtuous Well rather than St Anne's Well is not mentioned.

As you can see in the second photo above, some people still do leave offerings; a candle (tea light) and a wreath in this case.

Annis is written Agnes in English. From Latin 'Lamb of god'.

That's strange, unless I've missed something. The bane of my life.

But Mary is also a Well woman

This is where the angel Gabriel said hello to Mary.

And so on. Not to mention Tobermory.

Or Bridget. She's another well lady. And they all want money.

Perhaps Jesus and his ladies were water diviners? As well as being merely divine.

Oh and by the way, Mairead is the Gaelic form of Margaret. Unlike Maire, Moire, Marie which are not Margaret.

Muir means sea. Another water word.

Here's an interesting video about water and other things. Especially the spiral quality of water in water management systems.

Viktor Schauberger was a forester and based all his theories on practical observation. These theories were put into practice and were successful.

One theory he put forward was that copper is a much better tool for digging and ploughing. His idea was that iron rust depletes the soil whereas copper adds nutrients to it. I wonder if Bronze age farmers benefitted from this by using copper tools for farming?
